Eurovision Canada 2027: Kelowna and BC artists can apply now
CBC/Radio-Canada is accepting applications from Canadian musical artists who want to represent the country at the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest. Eligible singers and live performers in Kelowna, West Kelowna, the Okanagan, Vancouver, Victoria and across British Columbia can apply until September 9 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific.

The official CBC/Radio-Canada Eurovision portal opened applications on August 31. The window closes Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific.
That national call includes artists based in Kelowna, West Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton, Kamloops, Vancouver, Victoria and every other part of British Columbia. The search is also open across Canada to applicants who meet the broadcaster's requirements.

CBC is choosing the performer before the song.
Applicants do not need to arrive with Canada's finished Eurovision song. CBC/Radio-Canada says it will select the performer first, then develop the song and stage performance with the chosen artist and music-industry collaborators.
The broadcaster also asks applicants not to share or promote a proposed song as part of this process. The selected entry will include both English and French and may include other languages.
After the application period, CBC/Radio-Canada plans to announce a shortlist in the fall. A Canadian public vote will be combined with a music-industry jury vote. The official Eurovision announcement says Canada will make its contest debut in Burgas, Bulgaria, in May 2027.

The basic eligibility rules require the lead artist and any additional artists to be Canadian citizens or permanent residents and at least 18 years old as of May 1, 2027. Applicants must also be able to travel internationally and pass standard background checks.
CBC/Radio-Canada is looking for an established live performer with strong vocal command, a distinct artistic identity, experience in front of substantial live or broadcast audiences, enough availability for an intensive schedule from October 2026 through May 2027, and the ability to work collaboratively. A European audience and an engaged digital following are described as assets, not basic eligibility requirements.
The application asks for a link to a previous live performance; AI or demo voices are not accepted. It also asks for a separate unedited, unproduced video message of no more than 90 seconds explaining why the artist should represent Canada, along with artist, location, language, performance, broadcast, social-media and availability details.
