Performance
Stage work shaped for screen.
Black-box space, haze, floorwork, solos, duets and camera movement bring the dancers close without turning the piece into a flat recording.
Public coverage places the project inside Ballet Kelowna's shift to digital release and a Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre residency; the film translates stage work into a screen experience.
Ballet Kelowna, Simone Orlando, Trygg Nelson and the dancers remain central while James's contribution stays with the photographed movement.
