The Village Dance Academy: Sockeye

The film

An ongoing film collaboration with The Village Dance Academy. Most years centre Sockeye, its elite graduating ensemble of dancers aged 15–18, with each film becoming a cinematic time capsule for the performers.

The approach

Bold colour, camera movement and changing environments expand the choreography beyond the stage while keeping each ensemble's precision and personality at the centre.
